Can dogs hike in Yosemite National Park?
Partial Partly. Some trails and areas, not all.
Dogs are barred from the wilderness trails but get the paved Valley paths and several short named trails, the best deal of any big western park.
Where dogs can go
12-plus miles of paved Valley bike paths, Lower Yosemite Fall, Bridalveil Fall, Cook's Meadow Loop, and the paved part of Mirror Lake Trail.
What we do instead
El Capitan and Half Dome on foot from the Valley floor, which is most of the point anyway.
CA. On our route: Maybe. Rules change: check the park's own pet page before you go. Rhea is never boarded or kenneled; where she can't go, we find somewhere she can.
