Can dogs hike in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore?
Partial Partly. Some trails and areas, not all.
Dogs get a handful of named waterfall trails and beaches, but not the cliff trails or the boat that make the park famous.
Where dogs can go
Munising Falls, Miners Falls, the Miners Castle overlook, Miners Beach, Sand Point, Sable Falls, and the campground. Carrying her onto a closed trail is banned too.
What we do instead
Miners Castle is the one drive-up view of the cliffs she can share; the North Shore the next day opens nearly every trail to her.
MI. On our route: around Oct 12 to 14. Rules change: check the park's own pet page before you go. Rhea is never boarded or kenneled; where she can't go, we find somewhere she can.
