Can dogs hike in Acadia National Park?
Yes Yes. A leashed dog can use the trails.
Leashed dogs are allowed on the carriage roads and most hiking trails.
Where dogs can go
The carriage roads (Jordan Pond, Eagle Lake, Witch Hole Pond), Ocean Path, Great Head, Gorham Mountain and the Schoodic Peninsula.
Watch out for
The iron-rung ladder trails (Precipice, Beehive, Jordan Cliffs) are banned and genuinely unsafe for a 70-lb dog.
